A Hall of Records for West Philadelphia, the project aims to re-imagine archival spaces through the interrogation of the spatial and programmatic adaptability of the palazzo typology. An enduring type, the palazzo was considered a machine for efficiency, most notably through the specific arrangement of generic rooms. The project samples planimetric principles from Ledoux’s Hôtel de Ville de Neuchâtel as the basis for the generation of new room logics.
